PSP No Swap Exploit (1.5 only sorry still no 1.5x)

Well as promised Killer-X and the PSP-Dev team have released the no swap version of their 1.5 exploit named KXploit. Basically like the first “swap” exploit you end up with 2 folders ie ms1 and ms2 but instead of putting these both on a seperate MS you sumply name tham as follows (replacing appname with the name of the program you’ve converted) ms1 to appname% and ms2 to appname then place both folders on the MS. Hacking the Microsoft MN-700

You’ve all heard of hacking the Linksys WRT54G routers.

But what about some other routers. I thought I’d try my luck with a router some consider to be one of the worst on the market the Microsoft MN-700. This router runs a version of Windows CE by default but we’ll see if we can change that.

Here’s what we’re going to need

This will void your warranty and could possibly destroy your router. Do not attempt these instructions unless you’re cofortable with hardware modification.

Thanks to James Couzens for all the help and research that went into this mod. Visit his site at http://6o4.ca

UPDATE

I’ve added some pictures of our JTAG cable HERE

Apples Intel Switch Implications

As most of you have probably already heard Steve Jobs announced today that Apple will be making the move from the IBM PowerPC line of processors to Intel based processors. Now you can already find tons of info on the announcement all over the internet.

Meres a few links

What I’m more interested in are the implications this has for the computer industry as a whole.
Will Apples move spur developers to port more software to Linux/BSD as they now have the combined market share of both Apple and *NIX.
If the rumors of Apple and ATI’s Game Development Division/OpenGL Initiative are true this could mean the porting of more games to the OS X/*NIX platform.
In general this change although a little painful for Apple developers at the onset may work to apples advantage in the way of software availability. Although Apple has no plans to let you run OS X on your Dell (or any other machine not made by Apple for that matter) Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller had this to say on the matter of running MS Windows on your Mac “there are no plans to sell or support Windows on an Intel-based Mac. That doesn’t preclude someone from running it on a Mac. They probably will, We won’t do anything to preclude that.” (sic).

This could be the turning point that takes control away from Microsoft and spreads it out amongst all the current “mainstream” operating systems.

ASTALAVISTA SECURITY GROUP : Trojan poses as Osama capture pics

In an e-mail sent to an estimated one million internet users yesterday a new downloader Trojan, Small-AXR, tried to find a home in unsuspecting Windows users machines. The Trojan was located in a pics.scr file zipped and attached to an email with the following message.

Turn on your TV. Osama Bin Laden has been captured. While CNN has no pictures at this point of time, the military channel (PPV) released some pictures. I managed to capture a couple of these pictures off my TV. Ive attached a slideshow containing all the pictures I managed to capture. I apologize for the low quality, its the best I could do at this point of time. Hopefully CNN will have pictures and a video soon. God bless the USA!

The email was circulated with various different subject lines including “God Bless America!”, “Captured! Finally!” and “Finally! Captured!”.

Users are strongly urged to resist the temptation to click on this shiny new attachment and ignore the message thus averting the world of pain that comes along with these types of things.
