Make Bootable Video/Audio Disks

Have you ever made a video disk for a family member only to find out that it won’t play on their computer for some reason? Maybe a missing codec or something. Well now you can minimize if not eliminate that problem. Extremetech is running an article on creating bootable video disks using eMoviX. They walk you through each step in detail to get the end product of a disk (CD or DVD) that you can boot a computer from that will play your video or audio.

There are a few variants of the MoviX project and I encourage you to check them out at their sourceforge project page here

Some other bootable media playerlinux distributions are GeexBox , Womp , VDRLive and if you’re just looking for audio there’s amaroK Live
